The FastDoc App now offers three versatile options for selecting Jira issues, enhancing documentation efficiency for large projects or specific releases:

  • Multiple Jira Issue Selection: Select multiple issues simultaneously, ideal for documents that cover various project aspects.

  • Jira Filter Selection: Utilize JQL to filter and group issues by specific criteria, streamlining the selection process.

  • Project Version Selection: Choose issues by project version to ensure comprehensive coverage of all tasks related to a particular release.

Step-by-Step Guide

Getting Started

  • Launch the FastDoc App: Open the FastDoc App from your Jira dashboard.

  • Access the Document Creation Page: Navigate to the interface where you typically create new documents.

Selecting Issues

  • Multiple Jira Issues:

    • Select your desired tone and document type.

    • Click on 'Project Selection' to open the issue selection dropdown.

    • Choose multiple Jira issues as needed. Scroll to the end of the list to load all issues due to Jira's API call limitations.

    • Specify the document's goal.

    • Note: Title, description, comments of selected issues, and any child issues are included unless the status is “Withdrawn.”

Note: You may need to scroll to the end of the list to load all issues, as Jira limits the number of issues fetched in a single API call.

Note: Title, description and comments of selected issues and child issues are considered. If the status of a ticket is “Withdrawn” It will be excluded.

  • Using Jira Filters (JQL):

    • After choosing the tone and document type, select from your saved Jira filters.

    • Enter the document’s goal to proceed.

  • From Project Releases (Versions):

    • Select the tone and document type.

    • Choose a Jira project and the specific version you want to document.

Finalizing the Document

  • Generate the Document: Click 'Generate Document' to compile information from the selected issues.

  • Review and Edit: Review the generated draft, make edits, or regenerate as necessary.
